Job Details

Base-2 Solutions is looking for a system engineer that analyzes user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. Analyzes system requirements and leads design and development activities. Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies. Provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Develops technical documentation. Develops system Architecture and system design documentation. Guides system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

Role Description

This SE3 - VMware System Adminitrator should have a strong background in vSphere Administration and Windows System Administration, installing, maintaining, patching VMs operating in multiple disparate environments. Responsible for designing, deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting VDI solutions using VMware Horizon to include operation of virtual desktops, optimizing performances and ensuring security across all VDI environments.

Position-Specific Requirements

1) VMware vSphere (vCenter and ESSXi) experience.
2) VMware Horizon VDI experience supporting a geographically disperse enterprise.
3) Creating MS Windows Golden Images.
4) HP thin clients and HP device manager (HPDM)
5) VMware App volume experience to include applicaiton capturing, troubleshooting and VMware unified Access Gateway. 6) Capacity planning for geographically distributed enterprise level systems, converting requirements into technical plans.

7) Design, deploy, configure VMware Horizon VDI solutions and manage / maintain virtual desktops images, templates & pools.

8) Monitor VDI enviornments performance, troubleshoot issues, optimize resource utilization to include implement security measures to safeguard virtual desktops, data an duser access.

Qualifications
  • Twenty (20) years experience as a system engineer is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • CWIP Level 1 is required at start
