Job Title: Assistant Editor
Location: Onsite - Tempe, AZ
Contract: 6-Month W2 Contract (Potential for Extension or Permanent Conversion)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (8:00 AM-5:00 PM, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM, or 7:00 AM-4:00 PM after training)
Pay Rate: $19-$21/hour, depending on experience
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Editor to join our client s editorial operations team. This role focuses on editing, proofreading, and publishing agent-facing content in a high-volume environment. The ideal candidate has strong writing and editing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
This position is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with a globally recognized, customer-focused organization and work on a large-scale content management operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit, proofread, and publish short- and long-form content within a Content Management System (CMS), ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Review and revise content to align with style guides and meet service level agreements (SLAs).
- Transform long-form content into reusable headless content structures by organizing and structuring components.
- Audit and maintain existing content for consistency and quality.
- Collaborate closely with technical writers, program managers, and stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality content delivery.
- Provide daily updates on progress and adhere to established editorial timelines.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional editing experience OR a bachelor s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field.
- Strong writing and editing skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Advanced English language proficiency (C1 or higher), with expertise in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Experience editing to align with established style guides.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage deadlines and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with reusable or headless content is preferred.

- Writing Assessment: A writing/editing assessment is required as part of the interview process.
- Schedule Flexibility: After training, flexible work hours (7-4, 8-5, or 9-6) are available.
