IT App Engineer EDI

Location:- On-site work West Chester, OH OR East Chicago, IN/Indiana Harbor

Duration:- 6+ months (Contract) to Hire (Full Time Permanent)

Client. has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Information Technology Application Engineer at our Indiana Harbor, IN office, or another regional office facility. This position is part of the Enterprise Application EDI Development and Support Team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in multiple EDI Transformation and Communication standards.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• The incumbent will be responsible for development, support and enhancements related to the sending and receiving of electronic data between Cliffs Steel Inc. and its customers and suppliers.
• Communication with our company's customers and vendors to determine requirements and design for new EDI requests.
• Problem solving and an analytic mind will be key to in setup up new Customers and resolve issues for existing Customers.
• Trading Partners include Customers, Rail Roads, Outside Processors, and Financial Institutions.
• Monitoring and investigating existing EDI transmissions and responding to alerts from automated processes based on a 24 x 7 on-call business.
• Responding to support requests from both internal and external customers for troubleshooting and remediation of existing data transmissions.
• The company utilizes several different tools to satisfy this requirement which the ideal candidate will be fluent in:
  • OpenText BizManager
  • IBM Sterling Inflight
  • SQL Query language tools
  • Excel, Notepad++, Remedy Force
  • ANSI X12 Standards focus on 856, 863, 810, 830, 870, 404, 824, 850, 867, 861, 862 and others.
• Communication skills are key with the ability to communicate clearly technical jargon with non-technical team members.
• Comfortable with assuming leadership role with Internal Cliffs Team Members and External Customers as related to EDI setups.
• Ability to set and maintain schedules and meet deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Electronic Engineering or related discipline
• 8 years of experience developing and supporting Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) communications specific to steel manufacturing companies using SFTP, AS1, AS2, Webservice, DMD, VAN, API
• 8 years of experience working with data mapping to X12, EDIFACT, HTML, IDOC, CSV, XML
• 8 years of experience working with OpenText BizManager
• 8 years of experience working with IBM Sterling VAN, Inflight and mapping tools.
• 8 years of experience reading, writing, and interpreting EDI technical specifications specific to steel manufacturing requirements and other documentation
• 8 years of experience collaborating with cross functional teams in business and technical groups
• Travel requirements 10%
