The Lead Site Reliability Application Architect owns the technical strategy, support and implementation for the applications related to the Clinical systems. The Lead Application Architect works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
We are looking for an architect with deep expertise in .Net and SQL to drive reliability focused architecture across our clinical systems. In this SRE-centered role, you will assist in designing and optimizing solutions for performance, resiliency, fault-tolerance, and self-healing capabilities. You will collaborate closely with development teams to embed observability, automate recovery, reduce toil and technical debts across the applications we support. The Lead Application Architect performs technical planning, architectural review of development specifications. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent applications. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action. Reviews the proposed solutions for PROD environment and ensures solutions have sufficient observability, traceability and create minimal disruptions to the user.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner across multiple development, vendor, platform, security and SRE teams to ensure technical production readiness of all changes deploying to production
  • Technical owner of the Operational Excellence deliverables for projects transitioning from pilot to production, reviewing and approving production releases
  • Technical leader of SRE Intake for projects across multiple SRE Towers and teams, assessing capability, monitoring, automation and quality of planned technologies
  • SRE Technical SME providing leadership, guidance and coaching to multiple Towers' associates and vendor resources
  • Lead the team during critical issues and drives the issues to closure
  • Identify observability gaps in existing/ new applications and works with the team to improve alerts/ monitoring

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • 8 or more years' experience as a senior developer in large IT projects across Clinical IT
  • 3 or more years' experience working with the Clinical platforms and has experience/knowledge on SRE practices
  • Prior technical project lead experience for .NET + SQL related projects.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Hands-on experience with observability tools and experience with creating dashboards/ alerts for measuring KPIs

Work-At-Home Requirements
  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$129,300 - $177,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
