Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Migration Project Manager to oversee and facilitate the migration of technology infrastructure services. This role requires a dynamic individual who can coordinate and manage complex migration projects as well as ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruptions. The position is based on Eastern Standard Time and may require work during non-standard business hours, including late evenings and early mornings.

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Migration Project Manager to oversee and facilitate the migration of technology infrastructure services. This role requires a dynamic individual who can coordinate and manage complex migration projects as well as ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruptions. The position is based on Eastern Standard Time and may require work during non-standard business hours, including late evenings and early mornings.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with migration teams to take ownership of site migrations from the initial pre-migration planning stages through to the completion of the migration change window.
- Engage with technical leaders during the change window to communicate and escalate migration-related issues, providing regular updates on the status of the change window.
- Maintain meticulous records of change activities using a predefined method of procedure, tracking the progression of changes with status updates and timestamps.
- Identify and escalate risks or issues as they arise to the appropriate points of contact within the escalation framework.
- Ensure a smooth transition by providing a warm handoff to the Day 1 operations team at the conclusion of the change, along with comprehensive communications to all relevant technical and business stakeholders.
- Work beyond standard business hours to accommodate migration schedules, primarily between 6 PM to 6 AM Eastern Standard Time.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in managing technology infrastructure migration projects.
- Basic understanding of SDWAN, SDA, and Wired/Wireless technologies; CCNA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to lead and perform effectively under pressure, particularly during critical change windows.
- Strong decision-making and assertiveness, especially in critical situations requiring immediate action.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate issues, impacts, and resolutions clearly to team members and stakeholders.
- Availability to work during non-standard business hours as required by project schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to use project tracking and management tools effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in escalating issues through the appropriate channels to ensure rapid resolution.
