RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has an enterprise client seeking a Support Engineer III in Seattle, WA.
Summary:
The EMC Compliance Engineer role drives EMC compliance requirements, provides guidance to engineering during development and design, conducts and leads design review sessions, acts as subject matter expert to legal, engineering, operations and leadership on EMC compliance aspects, runs EMC tests at internal labs and supervises and manages tests at external labs, and reviews test reports.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive a standardized and harmonized approach to Regulatory Compliance across products
* Establishing and maintaining best design practices guidelines to mitigate EMC, WiFi, and NFC compliance issues early in the design phase
* Provide design requirements and approve mechanical and electrical design reviews to ensure EMC mitigations are properly implemented in the design
* Run EMC pre-compliance testing during product development
* Root cause determination and corrective design action for any failures
* File official paperwork and final approval from the proper government, regulatory or notified bodies
* Stay current on any changes to global agency approvals and testing procedures
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical discipline
* 2+ years hands on EMC, WiFi, NFC design for compliance
* Experience in submissions for official certification through relevant compliance bodies such as FCC and TCBs across multiple products
* Understanding of the CE/UKCA legal framework and experience with LVD, RED, and EMCD
* Experience working with overseas manufacturing partners
* Experience in running EMI and immunity tests and troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with safety compliance
* Experience in using analytical and simulation tools
* Experience in using design CAD tools and simulation software
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
