Additional Info regarding SO/R: Job Title: AS400 Developer (COBOL/DB2) Overview: We are seeking an experienced AS400 Developer with strong expertise in COBOL400, CL400, and DB2/400. The ideal candidate will have the ability to analyze and troubleshoot COBOL programs independently, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support and enhance legacy systems.
Key Responsibilities: Analyze, develop, and support applications written in COBOL400 and CL400 on the AS400 platform
Write and optimize SQL queries for data manipulation and reporting
Perform independent analysis of COBOL programs to identify bugs, enhancements, and performance improvements
Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and operations teams to resolve issues and implement system changes
Provide technical documentation and participate in code reviews as needed
Troubleshoot production issues and provide L2/L3 support Required Skills & Experience:
5+ years of hands-on experience with AS400, COBOL400, CL400, and DB2/400
Strong SQL skills with proven experience in data analysis and reporting
Ability to independently analyze and modify COBOL programs
Excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment Preferred:
Prior experience in finance, insurance, or large enterprise environments
Comments: AS400 development background
