IT INFRASTRUCTURE ANALYST
We are seeking a highly experienced Infrastructure Engineer with deep technical expertise in enterprise virtualization (VMware), firewall technologies (especially Palo Alto), core infrastructure design, and systems administration including Active Directory. This role supports our fleet of generation technology assets, including complex power generation control systems and the network infrastructures that underpin them.
As a contingent member of the Generation Infrastructure, Security, & Compliance (GISC) team, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and supporting secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure solutions. This position requires a seasoned professional who can confidently lead technical decisions, collaborate across OT and IT domains, and drive infrastructure excellence in industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade virtualization environments, with a strong emphasis on VMware technologies, ensuring high availability and performance across our generation fleet.
Architect and integrate Palo Alto firewall solutions, including VPNs and advanced security configurations, into industrial control system networks.
Provide expert-level systems administration for technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, patching, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
Collaborate with Cyber Security Services to apply robust security strategies across infrastructure layers.
Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, with a focus on infrastructure modernization and security.
Manage work tickets and customer relationships with a service-oriented mindset.
Lead infrastructure-related projects and provide executive-level reporting.
Ensure compliance with all applicable NERC CIP requirements.
Required Experience
Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience with VMware virtualization stacks, including deployment, support, and troubleshooting of associated hardware/software.
Proven experience with Palo Alto firewalls, including configuration, integration, and security policy management.
Strong background in systems administration, particularly with Active Directory, Windows Server, and endpoint management tools.
Experience supporting full-stack technology implementations, from network infrastructure to business applications.
Familiarity with industrial technologies and control systems is a plus.
