Job Summary: The Senior Data Governance Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting and advancing the data governance program by overseeing daily operations for assigned processes. This position involves leading process improvement efforts, providing expert guidance on data governance inquiries, and ensuring the highest standards of data management and compliance are met. The Senior Data Governance Analyst will also mentor junior analysts and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive strategic data management and design initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage complex assignments and projects, making strategic recommendations on new or improved processes, procedures, and workflows.
  • Ensure strict compliance with department policies and procedures, including data privacy regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Conduct advanced research, collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of data.
  • Assemble and maintain comprehensive records, reports, files, and other documents required for business activities.
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders to obtain and provide critical information.
  • Demonstrate advanced competence in using standard office equipment and software applications.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts and other team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7 years of relevant data governance, data management and/or data design experience.

Critical Skills

Computer Skills: Proficiency with modern Data Cataloging/Metadata Management tools. Proficiency with MS Office products (including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), Internet applications, and electronic medical record systems. Strong understanding of data management principles and data governance frameworks. Familiarity in data quality tools and techniques. Knowledge of relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).

Certification: CDMP, RHIA, CCS, CPC, or other health information management or data governance certification preferred.

Other: Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while meeting established deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and external vendors. Ability to pass pre-employment testing.

Education: Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology or related field preferred. High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
