Job Details
Job Title: Senior Lab Engineer
Location: Collegeville, PA
Duration: 6+ Months
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
- Experience Required: 8 - 10 Years
- Assist in maintaining existing computer infrastructure of 5000 PCs globally
- Image/Onboard new computers into the domain and onto the network and decommission it.
- Secure and protect new and existing hardware
- Consult with the business as they require assistance with their equipment
- Troubleshoot and implement data flows for scientific instruments
- Technical/Functional Skills: Outstanding computer troubleshooting skills for obscure issues, ranging from device connectivity, and laboratory software issues
- Background with End-user Computing or Desktop Support skills essential.
- Break/Fix consists of 80% of a Lab Engineer s workload
- Understanding of Harware Components and Networking concepts, such as network topography, VLANSs, Static/Dynamic IPs, Subnetting, IT/OT Networks, and basic understanding of firewalls. Candidate should be familiar with the OSI model and how to troubleshoot different network layers
- Knowledge and understanding of Active Directory required
- D2D and/or project support
- AGILE ways of working necessary
- Background with computer security
- Previous experience with validated systems (GxP) a plus
- Implement the validated data backup solution on laboratory analytical equipment (equipment and software investigation, documentation, technical configuration) within R&D (GxP and non-GxP)
- Support for scientists in incident management, user support and coaching, access management
- Testing and validation of computer software (complete tests in different environments, writing technical documentation)
- Familiar with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
- Microsoft Excel skills a plus
- Indepth knowledge in Microsoft OS including iOS and Linux a plus
- Generic Managerial Skills: Must have outstanding communication skills
- Candidate must be a team player
- Self-starter, attention to detail and willingness to learn new things a must
- Must be willing to follow processes, procedures and guidance Excellent organizational skills is a must
- Experience in leading team is a plus
- Preferred for Lab Enablers: Support business priorities by first intent
- Uplift all labs to a hardware standard that supports working in a digitalized ecosystem
- Proactively build stronger partnership with business by aligning technology and science through optimized processes
- Becoming a new breed of Tech & business who understands the "science" and use of scientific equipment (HW) + controlling software + data workflow up & downstream
- Innovative solutions that do not exist today including but not limited to explore and implement automated solutions to scientific problems, paving the way for the lab of the future
- Strong product ownership/project management.
