Title: Software Technical Lead (Java/Python, AI/ML)
Location: Remote, USA
Technical Lead to guide a talented team of engineers in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge solutions. This role requires a strong technical background in Java/Python, hands-on experience with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), and a proven ability to deliver scalable systems. As a player-coach, you will not only mentor a team of 5 developers but also be a primary individual contributor to our codebase. You will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction and ensuring the quality and efficiency of our engineering output.
8+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong emphasis on Java.
Proven experience in designing, building, and operating distributed systems at scale.
Demonstrable experience with AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Google Cloud AI/ML Platform).
Solid understanding and experience with API design principles (e.g., REST, gRPC) and system integration patterns.
Lead the architectural design, development, and deployment of robust, scalable, and high-performance applications and services primarily using Java and related technologies.
Apply AI/ML principles and techniques to innovate and enhance product features, improve system efficiency, and solve complex problems.
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
Develop and integrate with various internal and external APIs and backend systems, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality.
Solid understanding and experience with API design principles (e.g., REST, gRPC) and system integration patterns.
Serve as a hands-on technical expert, actively contributing to coding and code reviews.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to a team of 5 software engineers, fostering their skills and career growth.
Drive technical decisions, lead design discussions, and contribute to the team's technical roadmap.
Champion engineering excellence, including best practices, code quality, testing, and operational stability. Drive technical excellence by setting and enforcing rigorous coding standards, leading code reviews, and ensuring comprehensive unit, integration testing.
Collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to deliver high-impact projects.
Rapidly learn and evaluate new technologies to determine their applicability to our domain.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.
