Description
SAIC is seeking a Database Administrator Principal to join the Machine-assisted Analytic Rapid-repository System (MARS) Advanced Development Operations (DevOps) and Sustainment Support (ADOS) program and provide support to facilitate operations of critical MARS infrastructure and services. This effort focuses on providing a comprehensive set of System/ Software Engineering and IT Services to maintain, sustain, enhance, and improve/ modernize MARS. The ideal candidate will be located in the National Capital Region.

Description

The Database Administrator Principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the strategy, deployment, and management of complex, high-security database systems within MARS
- Conducts advanced troubleshooting and performance optimization. Leads disaster recovery planning and execution to ensure data availability
- Develops and enforces strict database policies and best practices. Provides expert mentorship to junior database administrators
- Coordinates with IT teams to integrate database solutions within broader MARS systems
- Keeps current with emerging database technologies and trends to drive continuous improvements
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor's and 9 years or more of related experience; Masters and 7 years or more experience (an additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
- Advanced database management, performance tuning, data integrity, backup and recovery operations, high-level maintenance and upgrades, and compliance auditing
- Proficiency with various DBMS, familiarity with operating systems
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
- One of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Cloud+, SSCP, GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
