Job Summary
Delta Dental is seeking a Senior Data Scientist with deep expertise in Dataiku and Azure ML to join our Data & Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE). This role will play a key part in advancing enterprise-wide analytics, driving AI/ML strategy, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Data Architecture, Data Engineering, and Business Analytics teams to identify and implement ML use cases solving real-world business challenges.
Leverage Dataiku and Azure ML to define, develop, tune, and deploy machine learning models.
Provide guidance and mentorship to business data scientists and development teams on ML best practices.
Act as Advanced Analytics Product Owner manage ML use cases, prioritize initiatives, and track delivery progress.
Champion ethical AI practices, data governance, and model validation standards.
Build and deploy predictive and prescriptive models to support strategic initiatives.
Lead process improvement and automation efforts within analytics workflows.
Communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Develop business cases, proposals, and presentations supporting analytics initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
8+ years of experience in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, or ML Engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with Dataiku, Azure ML, Python, and SQL.
Proven ability to design and implement end-to-end ML solutions (data prep, modeling, deployment, monitoring).
Experience leading complex analytics projects in an enterprise setting.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
Background in data governance, AI ethics, or model lifecycle management is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Delta Dental or similar healthcare/insurance domain.
Exposure to Azure Data Lake, Databricks, or MLflow.
Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
