JOB TITLE: Senior Manager Software Engineering
LOCATION: 655 New York Avenue NW, Washington, DC, 20001
DUTIES: Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and continuously improve software. Review and provide team with defined Software strategy, standards, procedures, tools, and processes. Work with the business partners to ensure that their needs are met with the most cost effective and simplest solution option. Provide tracking of program progress, align to business and IT MBOs and execute with taking full accountability of the software development processes for assigned scrum teams and engagements. Drive and ensure alignment with Engineering peers and tech leads during strategy, planning, and delivery. Mentor the engineering team to develop and perform as highly as possible. Review implementation practices and code implemented by team to identify and address gaps. Own the applications' technology stack and drive modern solutions to complex problems. Identify areas of process improvements and build automated solutions to increase efficiency & productivity. Lead and provide technical support to the delivery teams. Ensure solution and delivery teams follow best practices and improve application performance. Ensure team is building reusable components, frameworks and libraries which can be leveraged across departments. Collaborate with leaders across partner-teams to drive cohesive and optimal solutions. Communicate clearly and effectively in oral and written forms and be able to present and demonstrate work to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Supervises direct reports. Position allows for partial telecommuting out of Washington, DC office.
REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering degree or related field and 7 years of experience in the job offered or in a technology-related occupation. Position requires 7 of experience in the following: Java development experience including SpringBoot, API Microservices, Hibernate and Maven; Relational databases and big data platforms including PostgreSQL, SQL Scripting, EDB, PGFS, SQLServer, Apach Spark and Databricks; Web UI technologies including Angular, Javascript and HTML5; CI/CD technologies and deploying applications at scale including Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Cloud, Jenkins, and Github Actions; Version control and Agile methodology tools including Github, Rally, ServiceNow and Devops; Secure development processes and tools including Twistlock, CodeQL, dependabot, Azure Defender, Whitehat, Bright Security and Prisma Compute.
RATE OF PAY: $ 233,230.00 / per year
