Currently, we have an immediate full-time contract vacancy for a Telecom Network Upgrade Tech position.

JOB DUTIES:

Work with branch personnel or third party to locate new circuit and connect to existing network gear

Configure Fortinet Gateway for new circuit

Bring new circuit online and validate functionality

Verify tunnel configuration and operation

Disable old circuit in Gateway

Clean up network management tools and databases to reflect new circuit

Other communications related departmental functions as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED and three (3) years of related experience. Training or certification(s) in general networking or Fortinet strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Excellent written and oral communication skills ability to communicate with vendors

Self-starter

Ability to function in a team environment

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

Microsoft Office fluency (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Visio)

Ability to interact with users in branches to resolve problems

Basic knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and BGP routing

Knowledge of modern routing, switching and firewall products preferably Fortinet

Ability to troubleshoot WAN and LAN problems

Security basic Cisco and Fortinet firewalls, NAC, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Minor lifting of network devices

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: None required prefer Fortinet certifications

WORK LOCATION: Hybrid Schedule located in Irondale, Alabama
