Job Details

We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Plant Engineer to join our team in West Chicago (DuPage County). Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role will ensure optimal equipment reliability through Client s Performance System (SPS), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and our Maintenance Excellence framework. You will play a key leadership role in plant safety, maintenance operations, capital projects, and continuous improvement efforts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Plant Safety: Champion a safety-first culture; enforce compliance with OSHA and all federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Drive Maintenance Excellence: Implement and maintain reliability-centered maintenance to improve equipment uptime, OEE, and reduce operational costs.

  • Lead Maintenance Operations: Supervise the maintenance team to deliver high standards in equipment performance, preventive maintenance, and plant reliability.

  • Develop Team Capability: Evaluate technical skills, provide training, and build a high-performing department.

  • Capital Project Management: Scope and manage capital expenditures, budget adherence, and cost optimization.

  • Root Cause Analysis: Utilize FMEA, 5Why, and other RCA tools to prevent equipment breakdowns and recurrence.

  • Collaborate & Improve: Be an active member of the plant leadership team, contributing to process improvements and meeting business objectives.


What We're Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, or a related field (required)

  • 3+ years of experience in plant maintenance leadership in an industrial manufacturing setting, or 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing

  • Experience with CMMS systems (preferred)

  • TPM or reliability field experience (preferred)

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards

  • Proficient in root cause analysis tools (FMEA, 5Why, ATS)

  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, instrumentation, and lubrication systems

  • Excellent organization, communication, and project management skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Cost management and budget optimization skills
