Will AI ever replace the role of a software developer? We are working with a Series B start up with over $270 million in funding that strongly believes that AI will help to enhance the developer and the SDLC, so they are creating developer tools to facilitate the partnership.
We are now looking to hire up to 2 Engineering Manager as the team continues to expand and grow the engineering teams.
We re seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and scale the engineering organization whilst building a full-stack, code-centric AI platform. This is a pivotal leadership role, where you'll guide a multidisciplinary team spanning systems, frontend, and research and help shape the technical direction of the company. You'll be responsible for driving engineering excellence, mentoring top talent, and aligning cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious goals.
As a senior leader, you'll play a key role in scaling the engineering capabilities and defining the future of AI-powered developer tools.
What You ll Do:
- Define and drive the strategic direction of engineering in alignment with company objectives, delivering high-impact, developer-focused products.
- Lead large, cross-functional teams through complex technical projects ensuring high standards, velocity, and timely execution.
- Collaborate closely with leadership across ML research, systems, product, and design to shape and execute the roadmap.
- Oversee execution across the full stack from frontend experiences and backend infrastructure to AI model integration.
- Foster a high-performing, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture that attracts and retains world-class engineering talent.
- Architect scalable, reliable systems that support the growing demands of the platform and customers.
You Will:
- Build and nurture a collaborative engineering culture focused on innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a key technical leader in company-wide conversations and strategic decisions.
- Bring both deep technical expertise and high-level strategic thinking to solve some of the hardest problems.
- Lead by example balancing technical leadership with people management and execution.
- Partner cross-functionally to define priorities, ensure alignment, and deliver on critical initiatives.
What We re Looking For:
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, including 4+ years in engineering leadership or management roles.
- Proven success leading engineering teams at scale and delivering high-quality, reliable software products.
- Deep expertise in one or more of the following: frontend development, systems engineering, or AI/ML combined with the ability to lead across domains.
- Strong technical background with modern technologies such as Node.js, TypeScript, React, Kotlin, Java, or similar.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and grow engineering talent.
- A strategic mindset and strong sense of ownership you drive initiatives from vision to execution.
- A collaborative spirit, comfortable working across research, product, design, and engineering to achieve shared outcomes.
Bonus Points:
- Experience scaling engineering teams and processes in high-growth start up environments.
- Familiarity with AI/ML systems and embedding AI capabilities into developer tools.
- Background in building developer platforms, tools, or IDE extensions.
