Description

SAIC, a leading provider of systems development and deployment, targeting and intelligence analysis, systems engineering and integration, and training capabilities and solutions for the Intelligence Community (IC) is seeking creative and dedicated professionals to fulfill their career goals and objectives, while delivering mission excellence on programs of national importance.

SAIC's National Intelligence Community (NIC) Business Unit, USG Mission and Information Technology Division is seeking a Network Engineer to support several mission networks and provide innovative ways to achieve operational excellence and identify and resolve network issues as needed. The engineer will collapse several different mission centers into a single unified center, unifying multiple mission LANS to become a single but larger network, still on multi-vender equipment while going from OSPF to BGP-MPLS.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Required:
    • Active TS/SCI with polygraph
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, and/or Computer Science. Note that years of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
    • Five (5) years or more of demonstrated experience in one or more of the following networking activities:
      • Working with TCP IP protocol suite, IP subnets and masking, and routing protocols
      • Working in Local Area Network (LAN) environments
      • Working in Wide Area Network (TRANSPORT) environments.
      • Designing, configuring, and troubleshooting Routing and Switching systems on Cisco and Juniper
      • Working with Routing Protocols to include OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP
      • Working with Gateway Redundancy Protocols to include Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP) and Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP).
      • Implementing L2 and L3 VPN across an MPLS network.
      • Utilizing with network security such as firewalls and Access Control Lists (ACL).
      • Using Microsoft Visio for network topology creation and modification.
      • TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience
  • Desired:
    • Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Juniper Network Certified Expert (JNCE), Information System Security Engineer Professional (ISSEP), and/or Optical networking
