Job Title: NiFi Administrator Location: St. Louis, MO , Hybrid ( 3 days Onsite)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled NiFi Administrator to join our team for a project based out of St. Louis, MO. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, tuning, and administration of Apache NiFi environments to support data flow pipelines across our enterprise systems. This role is critical to ensuring secure, efficient, and reliable movement of data across platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Apache NiFi environments (standalone and clustered).
  • Design and manage NiFi data flows, processors, controllers, and templates.
  • Monitor NiFi performance, availability, and security using appropriate tools and alerts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to NiFi workflows, processors, and system-level configurations.
  • Work closely with data engineers, architects, and security teams to integrate NiFi with enterprise systems.
  • Perform version upgrades, patching, and system backups.
  • Implement best practices for flow management, data lineage, and security controls.
  • Manage access control and user roles via Ranger or other policies if integrated.
  • Document architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in system administration, with at least 2+ years focused on Apache NiFi.
  • Strong experience with NiFi Registry, NiFi Clustering, and secure data flows (SSL/TLS).
  • Solid understanding of data flow patterns, ETL concepts, and data governance.
  • Familiarity with integrating NiFi with Kafka, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, or cloud storage platforms.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix OS, shell scripting, and basic networking.
  • Hands-on knowledge of tools like Ambari, Grafana, Prometheus, or Nagios for monitoring.
  • Understanding of authentication & authorization protocols (LDAP, Kerberos, SSL).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cloudera DataFlow (CDF) or Hortonworks DataFlow (HDF).
  • Knowledge of other data integration tools like Airflow, Informatica, or Talend.
  • Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • NiFi or Cloudera certification is a plus.
