Business and Systems Analytics - Data Analyst 2

Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Business and Systems Analytics - Data Analyst for a contract position to work in Redmond, WA. The opportunity will be two months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

Position Summary:
The main function of this role is to coordinate changes to computer databases, test, and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems.

  • Work with senior management, technical, and client teams to determine data requirements, business data implementation approaches, and best practices for advanced data manipulation, storage, and analysis strategies.
  • Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of the database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions.
  • Design, implement, automate, and maintain large-scale enterprise data ETL processes.
  • Modify existing databases and database management systems and/or direct programmers and analysts to make changes.
  • Test programs or databases, correct errors, and make necessary modifications.
  • Scrutinize and improve the data sources relied on for routing, forecasting, and disposition.
  • Investigate new ways to improve data using upstream sources.


Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

      • Supporting and maintaining internal tools and systems that track and manage the flow of components, ensuring accurate routing and data integrity.
      • Writing Python and Kusto queries to extract data, identify issues, and support continuous improvement of the systems.
      • Collaborating with engineering, product, and operations teams to enhance features and processes within the supply chain tools.

      Typical Task Breakdown and Operating Rhythm

      • The role will consist of 30% meetings and 70% work, including writing queries, working on tools and systems, and cross-functional collaboration.

      Qualifications:

      • Years of Experience Required: 4 overall years of experience in the field. Candidates with more experience are welcome if aligned with the bill rate.
      • Degrees or Certifications Required: Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
      • Best vs. Average: Technical background with experience in supply chain tools, vendor management tools, or routing tools is ideal. Experience in similar roles is preferred. Strong technical knowledge, ability to understand backend systems and tools, and proficiency in writing code and queries are important.
      • Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of work and meeting deliverables and deadlines.
      • Minimum 4 years experience with coding languages and deep understanding of tools and systems.
      • Minimum 4 years experience with strong analytical skills.
      • Minimum 4 years experience with improving or building reporting tools.
      • Effective communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.
      • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required.
      • 2-4 years applicable experience required.


      Preferred:

      • Proven experience preferably in logistics, operations, or supply chain environments.
      • Curious, detail-oriented, solution-oriented, with a growth mindset.
      • Passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
      • Basic familiarity with servers and computer hardware.
      • Experience with database technologies.
      • Knowledge of the ETL process.
      • Knowledge of at least one scripting language.
      • Strong written and oral communication skills.
      • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
      • Demonstrated history of success.
      • Desire to work with data and help businesses make better data-driven decisions.
      • SQL, KQL, Python, or any other coding language, with a deeper understanding of tools and systems.
      • Strong analytical skills with a track record of building and improving reporting tools.
      • Experience with workflow automation and system integration.
      • Effective communicator and collaborator across technical and non-technical teams.
