The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $65.00 to $70.00 hourly on W2 hourly. Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.
IBM Guardium Administrator
Location: Remote
Duration: 4 months
Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on IBM Guardium Administrator to provide day-to-day operational support for our enterprise Guardium environment. This role is best suited for a self-directed worker bee who understands the Guardium platform and can independently execute tasks assigned by senior Guardium engineers. You will work closely with our team to perform upgrades, monitor system health, remediate database issues, and ensure continued protection of critical data assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily operational support and maintenance of the IBM Guardium environment.
- Perform patching and upgrades of Guardium components including:
- Guardium Agents (S-TAPs)
- Guardium Installation Manager (GIM)
- Upgrades from version v11 to v12
- Monitor and maintain Guardium agent health, collectors, aggregators, and Central Manager.
- Execute health checks and ensure optimal performance across Guardium components.
- Support database remediation efforts in coordination with DBAs and InfoSec teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Guardium-related issues independently.
- Perform VM builds and installations as required.
- Interpret and execute task lists provided by lead engineers (e.g., Jeff), completing assigned Guardium items with minimal oversight.
- Submit and track Change Management tickets as needed for upgrades and configurations.
- Follow best practices in Guardium architecture, security policy implementation, and data activity monitoring.
- Maintain clear documentation of all tasks performed and issues resolved.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5 7 years of IBM Guardium administration experience, including patching, upgrades, and agent support.
- Hands-on experience with:
- S-TAP and GIM
- Guardium aggregators, collectors, and Central Manager
- Guardium version upgrades (v11 to v12 preferred)
- Health checks and system performance monitoring
- Solid understanding of Guardium terminology, architecture, and operational use.
- Experience with virtual machine builds and working in virtualized environments.
- Strong Linux/Unix (especially AIX) experience is a PLUS.
- Familiarity with IBM z/OS Mainframe environments (nice to have).
- Ability to work independently and follow task lists without constant supervision.
- Experience with Change Management processes and ticketing systems.
