Job Title: Tableau Technical Lead
Location: Alameda, CA (Open to Fully Remote Anywhere in the U.S.)
Type: Contract or Full-Time

Note:
Experience in Life Sciences/Pharma and Commercial Operations is mandatory.

Role Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Tableau Technical Lead to design, develop, and deploy complex dashboards for life sciences commercial operations. This role requires strong SQL skills, a deep understanding of Tableau architecture, and the ability to work with diverse data sources and global teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with onsite teams to deliver end-to-end Tableau solutions.

  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical report designs.

  • Write complex SQL views and stored procedures to prepare reporting datasets.

  • Perform data blending, joining, and apply pivot logic across structured and semi-structured sources.

  • Develop interactive dashboards with filters, parameters, advanced calculations, and Level-of-Detail (LOD) expressions.

  • Publish reports to Tableau Server, manage user access and row-level security.

  • Optimize Tableau reports and underlying data models for performance.

  • Support Tableau Server maintenance and embedding reports into third-party applications.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 10 12 years of overall experience

  • Strong expertise in Tableau (Desktop & Server)

  • Proficient in SQL and data modeling

  • Hands-on with structured & semi-structured data sources

  • Solid domain experience in Life Sciences/Pharma Commercial Operations

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure

  • Knowledge of ETL tools

  • Exposure to other BI tools like Power BI, QlikView

Soft Skills:

  • Strong time management and ownership mindset

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills

  • Eagerness to learn new technologies based on project needs
