Engineering & Deliverables Manager - New Construction Shipbuilding

Job Summary

We are actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering & Deliverables Manager to lead the technical aspects of newbuild ship construction programs. This pivotal role encompasses the entire project lifecycle-from bid development and start-up to delivery and warranty support-serving as the primary technical liaison for government vessel programs. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of engineering documentation and support vessel construction, commissioning, testing, and final handover. Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive technical proposals, execution strategies, and project deliverables to meet program objectives
  • Oversee the integrity and accuracy of engineering documentation, conduct plan reviews, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as ABS and USCG
  • Coordinate submissions and resolve comments with regulatory bodies, including ABS, USCG, and the shipyard
  • Manage technical requirements, design modifications, and assess weight and stability impacts throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support construction phases, including commissioning, testing, and vessel system turnover
  • Prepare and present program status updates, reports, and technical briefings to stakeholders and senior management
  • Attend shipyard visits, dock trials, and sea trials to ensure project alignment and issue resolution
  • Ensure all technical deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Lead logistics and In-Service Support (ILS) products, as well as vessel operational documentation, to facilitate seamless vessel operation and maintenance

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 5 years supporting new construction shipbuilding programs, with proven project management experience
  • Strong understanding of ABS and USCG requirements, along with marine regulatory standards
  • Ability to interpret government contracts, technical specifications, and navigate complex technical documentation
  • Exceptional written communication skills, including proposal writing and report development
  • Excellent organizational and coordination abilities, with an emphasis on detail-oriented work
  • Capable of working independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint platforms
  • Experience with ABS NS-E standards is preferred
