Position Summary
The IT Support Specialist ensures the availability and functionality of computer resources, enabling end users to accomplish business tasks effectively. This role involves providing technical support, managing hardware/software, provisioning accounts, collaborating with a Managed Service Provider (MSP), and maintaining IT assets.
Candidates must be self-motivated, organized, and customer-focused with strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance for computer systems, software, and hardware issues.
- Serve as escalation support for MSP technicians and ensure high service standards.
- Support users via in-person, phone, chat, or email.
- Install and maintain hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Create/manage user accounts across multiple systems.
- Maintain and document help desk tickets.
- Run diagnostics and resolve technical issues.
- Track software licenses and hardware inventory.
- Stay current on IT trends and continuously improve technical skills.
- Assist with technology rollouts and system upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies.
- Maintain and update technical documentation and knowledge bases.
- Perform onsite support and occasional travel (up to 20%).
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience & Education
- Minimum 2 years of IT support experience.
- 2 years of technical college or equivalent education/experience.
- Preferred: CompTIA A+ certification.
- Experience in Windows Server, Active Directory, and remote systems tools.
- Proficiency with Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Familiarity with Intune and mobile device support (Android/iOS).
- Previous experience using ITSM systems.
- Basic PowerShell scripting experience.
