Summary Description
The Network Engineer is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and support of secure computer communication networks for the organization. Their goal is to ensure the smooth and secure operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance, availability, and security for the users.
Essential Functions
- Assist in the administration and maintenance of the corporate SD-WAN/LAN/WAN networks, VPN, secure web gateway, telephony, and monitoring systems as assigned from senior staff
- Prioritize user support requests and minimize user downtime as much as possible
- Install and upgrade network hardware and software
- Evaluate & implement new network connected business production systems
- Assist in the implementation of new technologies
- Identify and resolve network issues, troubleshoot connectivity problems, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure network reliability and availability.
- Troubleshooting network issues, such as Cisco ISE 802.1x authentication, with branch equipment such as cash advance, printers, ATMs/ITMS, ITM Signs, DVRs, Alarms, TCRs, and PCs
- Monitor the network for alarms or conditions requiring special attention to avoid impact on network performance.
- Participate in the inventory management of software licenses, software, hardware and other IT supplies
- Maintain network config backups with our central management software for all network equipment
- Provide backup for the duties of the Telecommunications Manager
- Interacts with third-party vendors on network hardware and assists and coordinates all service calls by such vendors.
Position Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of network administration
- CompTIA Network+ Certification
- CISCO CCNA Certification preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Work is generally performed indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
- Typically the employee may sit to perform the work. However, there may be some standing, walking, bending and carrying of light items in the course of the work
