Controller

Job Summary:

The Controller will lead the organization s financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls. This role ensures financial data accuracy and integrity, supports strategic business decisions, drives cost optimization initiatives, and enforces financial discipline throughout the organization. The Controller will collaborate with senior leadership and the finance team to improve overall financial performance and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Prepare, review, and interpret monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with GAAP standards.
  • Track and analyze standard costs versus actuals; coordinate corrective actions across departments based on results.
  • Design and implement cost-control strategies and financial policies.
  • Oversee budgeting and forecasting cycles; deliver variance analysis and actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to protect company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.
  • Oversee cash flow management, banking relationships, and treasury activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax reporting obligations.
  • Coordinate annual external audits and act as the main liaison with auditors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance financial systems for greater accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members within the finance and accounting department.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align financial planning with business objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, including 3+ years in a Controller-level position.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and applicable tax regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, including SAP.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial environments is preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills are required.
