Infor XA Developer

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Project Manager, Business Analysts, and users to understand requirements and design systems.
- Develop work plans for design, construction, and implementation phases of application development projects.
- Implement best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance and system performance.
- Produce technical documentation for new and existing applications.
- Support IBM iSeries and interfaced applications to insure efficient, uninterrupted operation of the system.
- Oversee application troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Develop unit and system testing plans.
- Plan and implement mass-data conversions.
- Participate in developing user training material.
- Enterprise application environment includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Infor XA 9.2(MAPICS) and custom developed enhancements (ERP).
- Infor WMS (warehouse management)
- OpenText TLi EDI
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (financials)
- TIBCO Cloud Integration
- Avalara AvaTax
- Secure FTP
- Mentor team members expressing new technologies, best practices, and coding techniques.
- Evaluate new technologies and how to utilize them to make processes more efficient.
- Capture, mitigate and /or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
Job Experience/Skills:
- This position requires hands-on application development RPG, SQL coding.
- Experience developing custom features using RPG in an Infor XA ERP environment.
- Experience with OpenText TLi EDI tools
- Experience developing web services and/or experience with APIs (REST/SOAP/MetaData, etc.) is preferred
- Experience analyzing/debugging daily production problems and support other users.
- IBM iSeries Query design/debugging support.
- Ability to self-learn technical skills by reading literature and attending seminars.
- Ability to interpret user requirements and develop highly functioning and efficient software is paramount to the success of I.T.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
- The individual must be able to interact as a liaison between the user community and I.T.
- Ability to think critically to develop solutions.
- Willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours.
- Exceptional written and communicative skills are a must.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant work experience.
