Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Mainframe Storage Engineer with deep expertise in Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex (GDPS). The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, configuring, and supporting complex mainframe storage environments. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience or those with equivalent depth of knowledge in IBM mainframe environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise mainframe storage infrastructure with a strong focus on GDPS.

  • Provide advanced support for z/OS, Sysplex, and disaster recovery configurations.

  • Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and storage optimization.

  • Support high availability and business continuity objectives through robust GDPS configurations.

  • Work closely with system programmers, application teams, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless operation of storage systems.

  • Diagnose and resolve storage-related incidents and performance issues.

  • Document storage architecture, procedures, and configurations.

  • Participate in audits and compliance initiatives as needed.

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in Mainframe Storage Engineering.

  • Expertise in GDPS (Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex).

  • Deep knowledge of IBM mainframe storage technologies, such as DASD, Tape, SMS, and DFHSM.

  • Experience with z/OS, Sysplex, and disaster recovery planning and execution.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
