We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Lead (AVP IT Technical Lead) to support the strategic leadership of the IT function. This role is placed within then IT Actuarial Product working closely with the pricing and reserving actuarial team.
REQUIRED:
- Background and understanding of Insurance is key, especially actuarial knowledge in Pricing and Reserving.

Location: ONSITE in NYC or Iselin, NJ or Farmington, CT
Type: W2 / Contract to Hire (Convert to FTE at 3-6 months)
Technical Skills / Experience
Job Duties:
Assist senior IT leadership in developing and executing IT strategies that align with organizational objectives.
Manage IT projects, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and implementation.
Oversee the performance and development of IT teams, ensuring high levels of productivity and engagement.
Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT systems, infrastructure, and applications.
Act as a liaison between IT and other departments to identify and address technology needs.
Monitor and report on IT performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
Assist in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts for software, hardware, and services.
Job Requirements:
9+ years of experience in IT roles, with at least 4 years in a leadership position.
Proven ability to manage complex IT projects and cross-functional teams.
Strong knowledge of modern development principles and best practices.
Knowledge of cybersecurity, compliance, and IT governance best practices.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and enterprise systems.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Experience in budgeting and financial management for software delivery teams.
Prior experience in the insurance industry is highly desirable, specifically working with pricing and/or reserving actuaries.
