Job Description

Torch Technologies is currently seeking an experienced Network Engineer with the ability to support Missile Defense System data center in a team-focused environment on Redstone Arsenal.
  • Analyzes complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges and other devices.
  • This position requires collaboration with personnel with analysts in the MDA to ensure
  • The position consists of performing Ground and Flight testing, data generation, modeling and simulation, and analysis in support of Missile Defense Agency initiatives.
  • Support includes evaluation of active/passive sensor performance, data fusion, multi-sensor tracking and target discrimination algorithms, system-level command and control algorithms, and missile defense battle management techniques.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Computer Information Systems or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 11 years progressively responsible network systems engineering experience.
  • Experience designing and implementing network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
  • Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
  • Works with various enclave ISSOs to ensure proper security configurations of network infrastructure and applicable DISA STIGs are applied to maintain cybersecurity
  • Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
  • Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
  • Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Proficient in configuring, maintaining and optimizing Cisco switches and routers, Meraki wireless infrastructure and Palo Alto Next Generation Firewalls and VPNs
  • Investigating faults in the network
  • Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
  • Reporting network status to key stakeholders
  • Active DoD secret clearance is required.

Preferred Qualification
  • Experience with MDA networks and the MDA Data center
  • Experience with Cisco IOS, Cisco NX-OS, Cisco ISE, and Wireshark
  • Experience with Network Monitoring, Cumulus Linux OS, Visio, SharePoint
