Description:
Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer - PCB Designer
Location: Andover, MA (Hybrid - minimum 3 days onsite, Mon/Thurs required)
Contract Duration: 6+ Months
Schedule: Normal office hours, 8 AM - 5 PM EST
About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with 8-10 years of experience in electronic/electrical product design to join our R&D team. This role will lead one or more PCB design projects and provide engineering support across the lifecycle of both new and legacy products. You'll also mentor junior engineers and contribute to troubleshooting, testing, and development efforts.
Responsibilities
  • Lead PCB design efforts using Cadence Allegro or similar tools.
  • Create and release schematic designs, BOMs, and part numbers for manufacturing.
  • Manage documentation in Windchill PDM including schematics, Gerber files, and fabrication data.
  • Resolve design/fabrication discrepancies and support quality assurance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, manufacturing, and project teams.
  • Drive innovation and process improvements with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • 8-10 years of experience in analog/digital circuit design and power electronics.
  • Strong background in PCB design, component qualification, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience with IGBTs, magnetics, thyristors, AC/DC capacitors, fans, etc.
  • Proficient with test equipment: CRO, AC/DC sources, multimeters, data loggers.
  • Familiarity with DFM/DFA, EMC, safety, thermal, and mechanical design requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Allegro, Windchill PDM, and PLM tools.
  • Knowledge of Ladder Logic, GE Proficy, or Modicon Control Expert is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Competencies
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-up and documentation skills.
  • Ability to lead PCB spec releases and feasibility studies.
  • Capable of running independent tests and generating alternate design solutions.
