Job Details
The Mainframe Developer Lead with hands-on development and operations experience in design, development, and maintenance of mission-critical mainframe applications and batch processes. Experience in financial services and payment system is plus Technical skills with deep expertise in batch JCLs, COBOL, CICS, and Software AG products (Natural, ADABAS), as well as hands-on experience with CA-7 scheduling. The Lead will drive database resiliency, enhance job observability, and optimize batch job recovery and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Lead the design, development, and support of batch and online applications.
Batch Processing & Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and optimize batch JCLs and COBOL programs.
Manage and enhance CA-7 job schedules for reliable batch processing, improve batch job observability, and automate recovery procedures.
CICS & Online Processing: Design and support CICS/COBOL programs for developing dashboards and monitoring jobs
Develop and maintain applications using Natural and ADABAS including ADABAS database resiliency tasks, including backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
Resiliency & Observability: Enhance monitoring and alerting for batch and online jobs to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Agile Delivery: Work closely with product teams to refine backlogs, sprint planning, demos and prioritization
Production incident analysis, change management process and configuring alerts/notifications in ServiceNow
Analyze single partition mainframe systems to migrate Infrastructure migration to LPARs
Understanding the payments SWIFT message formats and standardization
File Integration, Message Queue Integration and API Integrations from Mainframe to distributed systems
Technical Expertise
Advanced experience with batch JCLs and batch COBOL programming.
Strong knowledge of CICS and CICS/COBOL application development.
Expertise with Software AG products: Natural and ADABAS.
Hands-on experience with CA-7 job scheduling and automation.
