Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Orion, MI on a full-time basis.

The Role:

The Launch Electrical Wiring Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and readiness of wire harness design and manufacturing throughout the vehicle launch process. This position involves actively participating in and hosting Wiring Harness Assessments (WHAs) during the launch phase to validate design intent and manufacturing feasibility. The coordinator also works closely with the wiring harness supplier, including making occasional visits to the supplier's build facility to verify harness build accuracy, ensure compliance with specifications, and address any issues that may arise during pre-production builds.

What You'll Do:
  • Serve as a member of the plant's Electrical Team-an integrated technical group including Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality, and Product Development-focused on solving top internal and external quality issues
  • Report to Lead Launch Electrical Coordinator
  • Implement the Launch Protection Plan at wiring supplier facilities to establish a robust wire harness manufacturing process (Travel required)
  • Complete AMEC training at various GM and Supplier Locations
  • Act as the liaison between wiring suppliers, GM manufacturing teams and product engineering
  • Support packaging, harness sequence racks, and lift assist designs to ensure defect-free harness delivery to the production line
  • Drive proper harness packaging and delivery to Assembly plant
  • Run harness Hanking workshops with PSDS team and supplier to ensure most proficient un-Hanking and handling during assembly


Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:
  • 5 + Years Experience in Manufacturing
  • 5 + Years Experience in Automotive subsystems
  • Ability to travel- Domestic and International (50%)
  • Strong Interpersonal and team Collaboration skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences
  • Self-motivated and innovative
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities


Preferred Qualification:
  • 5 + years' experience with automotive wiring systems
  • Experience in lean manufacturing and process development
  • Multilingual Spanish language proficiency
  • Knowledge of wiring CSE role
