Join our development team as the primary owner for the day-to-day management and development of the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP). You will be the go-to expert for tenants navigating the platform, providing guidance, troubleshooting, and development support. This role is pivotal in ensuring the platform's reliability, scalability, and usability for infrastructure-wide automation initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Tenant Support: Serve as the primary contact for tenants, holding regular office hours and providing hands-on support for automation questions and platform navigation.
  • Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules to address tenant needs and expand platform capabilities.
  • Collaboration: Partner with application development, infrastructure, and security teams to align automation strategies and ensure compliance with organizational standards. Partner with platform engineering team in support of lifecycle management of AAP.
  • Documentation & Enablement: Author and maintain platform documentation, runbooks, and best practices. Deliver training and onboarding sessions for new tenants.
  • Governance & Standards: Contribute to platform governance, including RBAC, security controls, and CI/CD integration for automation content.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance platform usability, automation coverage, and developer experience. Drive adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) methodologies.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues using best practices to support automations running on AAP. Execute strategies to restore services promptly and address disruptions.

What you have

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years - Automation experience (Python, scripts, Ansible, Salt, etc.) and experience with Git for version control.
  • 3+ years - Proven experience managing and developing on Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
  • 2+ years programming/scripting experience with REST API endpoints
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and processes (Lean, Agile, Kanban)
  • Experience supporting enterprise Linux environments (RHEL 8/9) and troubleshooting OS/container runtime issues.
  • Ability to support and mentor tenants, including running office hours and providing technical guidance.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, platform governance, and automation best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field, or an additional 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience developing automation for multi-tenant platforms and integrating with APIs.
  • Experience working in 5,000+ users environment
  • Experience in VMware products and integration with their products
  • Experience in Change Control process (Remedy/Helix)
  • Experience in addressing QA challenges by applying best practices in testing and compliance
  • Comfort level with the Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo)
  • Knowledge of security standards, compliance, and Role Based Access Control (RBAC) in automation environments.
