Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Virtualization Engineer to join a global infrastructure team responsible for the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of server environments across enterprise data centers. This role is ideal for engineers who are passionate about automation, performance optimization, and working hands-on with modern data center technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy server infrastructure with a strong emphasis on automation and scalability.
  • Conduct performance, failure, and resiliency testing across virtualization platforms.
  • Research and implement innovations in data center cooling, power management, and compute densification.
  • Automate engineering workflows using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Manage and optimize containerized environments using Kubernetes and OpenShift.
  • Integrate Kubernetes with storage solutions to support cloud-native applications.
  • Migrate and manage virtual machines using KubeVirt and KVM within OpenStack environments.
  • Perform performance tuning and ensure fault tolerance across infrastructure layers.

Required Skills

  • Operating Systems: Strong Linux systems engineering experience
  • Containerization & Orchestration:
    • Kubernetes (required)
    • OpenShift (preferred)
    • Helm charts and Operators
  • Virtualization Platforms:
    • VMware (vSphere, ESXi, VCF)
    • KVM, KubeVirt
    • Nutanix
  • Storage & Networking:
    • Ceph (implementation and upgrades)
    • CSI (Container Storage Interface)
    • CNI (Cilium)
    • NSX-T
  • Automation & Scripting:
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
    • Python (preferred)
  • Systems Engineering:
    • IP configuration
    • Performance testing and fault tolerance
    • BareMetal installs

Preferred Experience

  • Managing OpenShift environments for high availability.
  • Integrating Kubernetes with S3-compatible object storage.
  • Migrating workloads into OpenStack environments.
  • Analyzing historical infrastructure performance data.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $100.00/hr.
