Title - Project Manager
Client - Department of Health
Location - Washington, DC 

Job Overview:

The candidate will be responsible for managing a range of complex projects, particularly focused on financial assistance systems and stakeholder engagement. The role includes planning, coordinating, and executing various tasks and deliverables while ensuring alignment with technical and strategic goals. The individual will also contribute to system analysis and support long- and short-term planning for system development and maintenance.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning & Management:

    • Utilize established project management tools and methodologies to develop comprehensive project plans.

    • Define activity schedules, determine staffing needs, establish deliverable timelines, and set milestone targets for all assigned projects and reports.

    • Monitor project progress and take corrective actions to ensure timely delivery.

  2. Team Leadership & Execution:

    • Oversee all aspects of large-scale projects or significant portions of complex initiatives.

    • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, providing guidance on scheduling, budgeting, and task execution.

    • Ensure proper coordination between internal team members and external stakeholders.

  3. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:

    • Support client outreach efforts by organizing and facilitating both standard and ad hoc meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

    • Prepare high-quality briefing materials, presentations, and communication documents that clearly convey project goals, status, and outcomes.

  4. Problem Solving & Innovation:

    • Analyze complex project-related issues and develop innovative solutions involving scheduling, technology selection, project methodology, tools, and financial/resource management.

  5. Systems Analysis & Strategic Planning:

    • Provide systems analysis and planning support for application selection, system development, maintenance, and production activities.

    • Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure resource allocation aligns with project goals and client expectations.


Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in leading large-scale or complex projects, preferably within government, grants, or financial systems.

  • Strong background in systems analysis and IT project lifecycle management.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present technical and strategic content.

  • Experience in stakeholder management and outreach activities.

  • Ability to develop and implement efficient processes and solutions.
