Job Title: Senior Network Voice Engineer
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)
Duration/Term: Long Term Contract


Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Telecom VoIP Engineer with 4-5 years of hands-on experience in VoIP technology, specializing in Avaya Communication Manager (CM) and Nortel CS1K telephony systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in voice mail servers, networking protocols, and VoIP call flow, along with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple vendors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and maintain VoIP systems, including Avaya CM and Nortel CS1K telephony platforms.
  • Manage and troubleshoot voice mail servers like Avst, Avaya IX Messaging, and Office Link.
  • Ensure proper MDF/IDF cabling, patching practices, and structured wiring solutions.
  • Maintain and optimize VoIP network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity.
  • Work with TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP networking protocols to support VoIP functions.
  • Configure and support analog, digital, IP, SIP, portable, and Polycom phones.
  • Monitor and enhance VoIP phone call flow, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Coordinate effectively with multiple vendors, handling integrations and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Provide strong troubleshooting support for VoIP phones, minimizing downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with 323 and SIP protocols, maintaining industry best practices.
  • Assist in the deployment and maintenance of Avaya and Nortel voice gateways.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • 4-5 years of experience in VoIP technology and telephony systems.
  • Solid expertise in Avaya CM and Nortel CS1K
  • Strong understanding of voice mail servers, telephony configurations, and networking protocols.
  • Experience working with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and structured cabling
  • Hands-on experience with VoIP phone setup, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Strong coordination and vendor management skills.
  • Familiarity with 323 and SIP protocols for seamless VoIP communication.
