Job Title: Program Manager / Project Manager - Data Background
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid) 3 Days Onsite 2 Days Remote
Type: Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager with a strong background in data management, ETL processes, and Informatica to lead and deliver large-scale data initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end project execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and driving successful delivery of data integration, migration, and transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage end-to-end data projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
Work closely with stakeholders, business users, and technical teams to define scope, requirements, and deliverables.
Manage and track ETL processes (using Informatica or similar tools) for data migration, integration, and transformation initiatives.
Oversee project schedules, budgets, and risks while ensuring compliance with data governance and quality standards.
Coordinate cross-functional teams (Data Engineers, ETL Developers, QA, Business Analysts) to ensure smooth project execution.
Facilitate status meetings, progress reports, and stakeholder communications to provide visibility into project milestones.
Identify process improvements and ensure best practices in data project management.
Support change management, issue resolution, and escalation handling throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications

10+ years of total IT experience, with at least 5+ years in Project Management (preferably in data/ETL projects).
Strong experience in Informatica PowerCenter / Informatica Cloud and ETL concepts.
Proven track record in delivering data integration, data warehouse, or migration projects.
Excellent understanding of SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
PMP, CSM, or other project management certification is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
Exposure to Data Governance, Data Quality, and Metadata Management.
Familiarity with reporting and BI tools for project tracking and data insights.
