Job Description:
TEKsystems is seeking a qualified Splicing Technician to support aerial, underground, and ISP cable routing projects. This role requires mid-level expertise in fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting within live customer environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

TEKsystems is seeking a qualified Splicing Technician to support aerial, underground, and ISP cable routing projects. This role requires mid-level expertise in fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting within live customer environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mid-level splicing for aerial, underground, and ISP cable routing.
- Interpret construction prints, drawings, and splice matrixes to meet customer specifications.
- Determine equipment needs, cable routes, and safety protocols for live environments.
- Independently execute mid-sheath cable entries using proper tools.
- Conduct single and ribbon splices, including large cable count numbering.
- Read and analyze test results; troubleshoot basic issues.
- Perform OTDR and power meter testing at a mid-level proficiency.
- Install and research procedures for various splice enclosures.
- Execute basic cable relocations and hot cuts while maintaining organization.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Respond promptly to critical situations and emergency outages.
- Maintain safety awareness and adhere to all safety standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Top Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 1-3+ years of cable installation and/or splicing experience required.
- Certifications:OSHA 10 certification (required before start date)
- Man lift and CPR certifications (required before start date)
- Licensing: Valid driver's license; ability to obtain a DOT medical card strongly preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
