This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

Job Description
Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Staff SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Austin, TX to:
- Work directly with product owners to gather and refine requirements across products, incorporating existing tools and solutions within the organization, and have continued discussions with them to work on the process improvement and performance optimization.
- Lead security architecture reviews, enforce standards for security, maintainability and performance.
- Independently develop and design complex, robust, and scalable architectural solutions, considering integration with other solutions across the internal technical ecosystem.
- Mentor and guide interns and junior developers.
- Work with various departments for project alignment and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Conduct risk assessments for complex functionalities.
- Oversee multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery, scalability, security, and performance.
- Perform ATC duties in any level and perform as the primary contact for the application.
- Position reports to the Employer's Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Position requires experience in the following skills:
- Implementing microservices.
- Core Java, JEE technologies, REST, Spring, and container-based technologies.
- In-depth experience with Clojure.
- Relational and NoSQL databases.
- Software development in Unix/Linux environment.
- Develop automation scripts using Python.
- Designing and implementing APIs, abstractions, and integration patterns to solve challenging distributed computing problems.
- Ensuring proper metrics instrumentation in software components to help facilitate real time and remote troubleshooting/performance monitoring.
- GitHub, Jenkins, SQL, Kafka, and Bitbucket.
- Agile development process.
