Our client is comprised of 11 agencies and a major health program. Our client seeks to promote the health, resilience, and independence of the nearly one in three residents of the Commonwealth they serve. Their public health programs touch every community in the Commonwealth.

Our client's Enterprise Architecture Team is seeking to hire a highly experienced, well-organized, result-driven Solutions Architect with Salesforce Solutions and System Architecture experience and strong leadership abilities. The ideal candidate will provide guidance and oversight on projects with a primary focus on the integration of Eligibility and Enrollment (IEE) and Salesforce projects. The person will have a deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, best practices, and the ability to align technology solutions with business objectives.

The incumbent will play a critical role in designing and overseeing the implementation of integrated technology solutions that support the organization's long-term goals and will be deeply involved in daily work across all business units, regularly interacting with both stakeholders and subject matter experts.

The primary work location for this role will be at 100 Hancock St, Quincy, Massachusetts 02171. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST. This position is expected to follow a hybrid model of in-office and remote work as needed.

Responsibilities, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Design Salesforce architecture solutions spanning business processes, hardware, operating systems, applications, networking environments, and platforms. Develop Salesforce technical frameworks and components that address common needs and can potentially be leveraged enterprise-wide.
  • Lead and collaborate with a solution integrator to design, develop, and implement a Salesforce solution, using Salesforce components including Public Sector Solutions, Experience Cloud, and Service Cloud, ensuring alignment with client requirements and Salesforce best practices.
  • Provide Salesforce technical architecture leadership.
  • Work closely with the Enterprise Applications Support team to architect Salesforce solutions across current implementations, legacy platforms, and new development. Review all current implementations to identify gaps, risks, and recommend improvements and optimization areas including custom code and integrations.
  • Integrate Salesforce with external systems using APIs, middleware, and ETL tools.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and middleware engineers to define scalable, extensible, cost-effective, and standards-based solutions.
  • Define and document Salesforce functional and nonfunctional details, technical architecture, and design specifications.
  • Build a cost-effective infrastructure architecture based on the Salesforce platform.
  • Present facts and recommendations effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Consult with business leadership to align architecture design with business strategy and objectives.
  • Consult with infrastructure teams, applications teams, data architects, security architects, and strategic partners.
  • Conduct vendor code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers.
  • Review and lead technical design and provide architectural insights on proposed features.
  • Review technical team deliverables for compliance with architecture standards and best practices.
  • Present perspectives on Salesforce product releases and roadmap features.
  • Guide developers on Salesforce best practices and principles.
  • Review technical deliverables and identify areas for improvement.
  • Engage in cross-functional team/vendor discussions and provide leadership feedback.
  • Monitor Salesforce org health, performance, and governance limits; share reports and recommendations.
  • Map functional requirements to Salesforce features and functionality.
  • Provide guidance to new source systems on integration and architecture for the Common Noticing Solution (CNS).
  • Provide governance and best practices for platform adoption and full application lifecycle.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
  • Evaluate operational feasibility through analysis and solution development.
  • Participate in technical audits and design reviews.
  • Analyze and remediate problems including critical events and rollouts.
  • Plan, prioritize, and execute assignments within deadlines.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
  • Evaluate Salesforce AppExchange products and make build/buy recommendations.
  • Use change management processes to report anomalies or inefficiencies.
  • Provide biweekly readouts on findings and recommendations.
  • Review current SDLC processes and recommend improvements.
  • Review and approve technical deliverables including architecture documents and system security plans.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor team members.


Experience, Education and Certification(s):
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Salesforce certifications preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience implementing Salesforce preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise-scale Content Services Platforms (e.g., OpenText) preferred.
  • Experience with API management platforms like MuleSoft preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Cloudflare, Fuse) preferred.
  • Knowledge of IAM and Privileged Access Management solutions preferred.
  • Experience with modern web/mobile frameworks (e.g., ReactJS, NodeJS, MongoDB) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Document Management solutions and AWS hosting preferred.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce SOAP, REST, and BULK APIs.
  • Experience working with PHI, PII, and SSA data preferred.
  • Familiarity with state government health eligibility and enrollment systems preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
