Job Description
We are seeking an experienced UAT Test Lead with expertise in Guidewire insurance platform to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for our Guidewire-based insurance systems, ensuring that all system changes meet business requirements and are thoroughly tested. This is a key role that requires strong technical, analytical, and leadership skills to ensure the successful delivery of business-critical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
UAT Test Planning:
- Develop and execute comprehensive UAT test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure Guidewire system changes meet business requirements.
- Identify and prioritize testing requirements, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure testing scope is aligned with business objectives.
Test Case Development:
- Create detailed test cases and test scripts to validate Guidewire system functionality, including policy, claims, billing, and other insurance-specific processes.
- Ensure test cases cover all aspects of system changes, including functional, integrations, and data migration testing.
Test Environment Setup:
- Coordinate with IT teams to set up and configure UAT test environments, including Guidewire system instances, data sources, and testing tools.
- Ensure test environments are adequately sized and configured to support testing requirements.
UAT Testing:
- Lead and coordinate UAT testing activities, including testing, defect reporting, and defect tracking.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to identify and resolve UAT defects and issues.
Defect Management:
- Develop and implement defect management processes to ensure efficient defect reporting, tracking, and resolution.
- Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve defects, and ensure defects are properly documented and tracked.
Test Automation:
- Identify opportunities for test automation, and collaborate with IT teams to develop and implement automated testing scripts.
- Ensure automated testing scripts are properly maintained and updated to reflect system changes.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and training sessions to ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
Reporting and Metrics:
- Develop and provide regular UAT testing progress reports, including testing metrics, defect status, and other relevant information.
- Analyze testing metrics to identify trends, optimize testing processes, and improve overall testing efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or a related field, preferably in the insurance industry.
- Proven experience with Guidewire InsuranceSuite (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter) is required.
- Experience in UAT testing, test planning, and test execution is essential.
Skills:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Guidewire InsuranceSuite, including configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with testing tools, such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar.
- Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Strong SQL skills and experience with database querying and data analysis.
Certifications:
- Guidewire certification (e.g., Guidewire Business Analyst, Guidewire Technical Consultant) is a plus.
- Certified Software Testing Professional (CSTP) or Certified Test Engineer (CTE) certification is desirable.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Guidewire Technical Skills:
Guidewire InsuranceSuite:
- In-depth knowledge of Guidewire InsuranceSuite, including PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter.
- Experience with Guidewire system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
Guidewire Studio:
- Familiarity with Guidewire Studio, including data import, data export, and data manipulation.
- Experience with Guidewire Studio scripting and automation.
Guidewire Data Management:
- Understanding of Guidewire data models, including policy, claim, and billing data.
- Experience with Guidewire data migration, data integration, and data quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Guidewire certification (e.g., Guidewire Business Analyst, Guidewire Specialist).
- Experience working in large-scale Guidewire implementations or upgrades.
- Exposure to integrations between Guidewire and downstream systems (e.g., document management, CRM, payment platforms).
- Experience with automation testing tools or working in a CI/CD environment is a plus.
- Insurance designations (e.g., CPCU, AINS) are a plus.
