Immediate need for a talented Junior Underwriter. This is a 12 months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Phoenix, AZ(Onsite). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: $18 - $20/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- Interview loan applicants to elicit information; investigate applicants' backgrounds and verify references; prepare loan request papers; and forward findings, reports, and documents to appraisal department.
- Review loan papers to ensure completeness, and complete transactions between loan establishment, borrowers, and sellers upon approval of loan.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Key Skills: Analytical Skills (2 years)
- Knowledge of Credit and Risk Assessment (2 years)
- Regulatory Compliance Knowledge (2 years)
- Credit reports, Income Verification/Tax returns and Communication: outlook, SLACK, click to chat.
- Analytical Prowess: Look for candidates with strong analytical skills.
- Consumer Lending Credit and Risk Assessment Expertise: A deep understanding of credit principles, risk assessment methodologies, and the ability to interpret credit scores and reports is crucial.
- Income Verification and Tax Return Knowledge: The candidate must be proficient in verifying income, especially for self-employed individuals.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant lending regulations, compliance guidelines, and industry standards is a must.
- Attention to Detail and Accuracy: The role demands meticulous attention to detail to ensure all aspects of a loan application are thoroughly reviewed and accurate.
- Communication Skills: While direct customer contact does not occur, strong verbal and written communication skills are vital for interacting with loan officers, processors, and other internal stakeholders to clarify information or explain decisions.
- Experience Level: 2 years of underwriting experience is preferred.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Underwriters often face complex scenarios requiring critical thinking, sound judgment, and effective problem-solving abilities to make informed decisions under pressure.
