General Summary

Ensure the highest possible levels of proficiency in the use of information systems through the development and delivery of a comprehensive training program and providing expert-level desktop and web application support to our employees. This role requires a deep expertise and training experience in core law firm applications, with an emphasis on the Litera product suite: Forte/Create, Styles/Numbering Schemes, DocXtools, Compare, Metadact and Best Authority.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver instructor led web-based and classroom training for new hires, ongoing application-specific and productivity training for staff and attorneys, and new technologies introduced to the firm.
  • Analyze training needs and develop innovative and easy-to-understand training curriculum and training materials including but not limited to instructor led web-based and classroom training, eLearning modules, Quick Reference Cards and Quick Tips. Revise training materials, as needed, when new capabilities are released to ensure training materials are up-to-date.
  • Serve as an application project lead on a firm project to upgrade the Litera suite of document production applications to their newest solutions. This project includes assisting the with the configuration of the new applications, development and customization of the firm s document templates, styles and numbering schemes, comprehensive testing of the applications on a new Windows11 desktop image, creating a training curriculum and materials, and delivering training.
  • Work with Information Technology management and external vendors to evaluate and test application upgrades and new technologies being introduced at the firm and develop training curriculum and training materials as needed.
  • Working the Director of Information Technology, develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities across the firm.
  • Participate in the maintenance of training calendar including but not limited to adding class offerings, resource materials, updating participant attendance records, and generating attendance reports.
  • Prepare training schedules and programs which includes interacting with respective national departments and office administrators.
  • Serve as 2nd level escalation support for how to document production and application support questions, and to assist with troubleshooting technical application issues
  • Remain current on training trends. Maintain technical competence by taking internal, external and/or e-learning courses.
  • Utilize documentation and available resources to remain abreast of firm and Information Technology policies and procedures. Be able to convey these policies to staff as is appropriate while assisting with their issues.

Skills, Experience, Education and Other Job Related Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree, preferably in Communications, and a minimum of three years experience in training and technical education at a law firm.
  • Deep expertise, training experience and application support in the Litera document production suite including:
    • Forte/Create document templates, styles and numbering schemes
    • DocXtools
    • Compare
    • Metadact
    • Best Authority
  • Excellent technical knowledge of additional core applications including but not limited to:
    • Intapp Time
    • Intapp Conflicts/New Business Intake Forms and Workflow
    • Zoom, MS Teams
    • Microsoft Office 365: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
    • iManage Work10 Cloud Document Management System
    • Nuance PowerPDF
    • Chrome River Invoice and Expense Management Systems
  • Ability to create and maintain training curriculum, materials, and surveys.
  • Experience developing eLearning content and modules in Adobe Captivate and Camtasia
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively complete designated job assignments.
