Job Description:

Requirement/Must Have:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficient in terminating all connector types and methods for SMF and MMF systems (Unicam, anaerobic, heat-cure).
  • Testing and troubleshooting experience with MMF & SMF systems using OTDR & PMLS.
  • Must be able to use trade tools including screwdriver, tape measure, pliers, cable stripper, punch tool, tone set, crimp tools, etc.
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in Fiber (preferred).
  • Mechanical and fusion splice experience (preferred).
  • Data center installation experience (preferred).
  • OSP / Confined Space Entry experience in splicing (preferred).
  • Industry certifications (preferred: Corning, FOA, BICSI).
Responsibilities:
  • Mount and install racks, patch panels, fiber optic hardware.
  • Terminate LC, Client, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, MPO/MTP connectors for multimode and single-mode fiber.
  • Terminate simplex & duplex jumper cords and breakout outside plant fiber.
  • Terminate indoor tight buffered fiber and install fan out kits.
  • Calculate end-to-end loss budgets per TIA/EIA standards.
  • Perform OTDR, Fluke & EFXO testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform mechanical and fusion splicing with all fiber types.
  • Perform building entrance, maintenance space, and direct buried splices.
  • Complete all required paperwork accuXXly and on time.
  • Provide on-site support after business hours as needed.
  • Travel to various sites when required.

  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift/move heavy equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and read small print.
  • Promote company culture and serve as liaison to customer representatives.
Skills:
  • Fiber termination (SMF & MMF).
  • Fiber testing and troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical and fusion splicing.
  • Installation in data center and OSP environments.
Qualification and Education:
  • High School diploma or GED (required).
  • Industry certifications (preferred).
