Here at Lucid, we are looking for a Director, IT Factory Systems to lead and oversee the Enterprise and Infrastructure systems of Lucid's vehicle manufacturing plant. This pivotal role involves managing IT (Information Technology) for factory Logistics, Manufacturing, Quality and related technology functions across the entire production footprint. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing information systems, operations technology, and leadership within the manufacturing sector.

The Director of IT Factory Systems will drive the strategic vision for IT and OT (Operational Technology) within the factory, identifying opportunities for automation, data-driven decision-making, and process optimization to enhance efficiency and scalability. This role also requires strong executive stakeholder management, fostering partnerships with business leaders, engineering teams, and external technology vendors to ensure IT solutions align with factory goals and future growth. The Director of IT Factory will play a crucial role in scaling and shaping the transformation of Lucid's vehicle production facilities and we see this role as a glue between all the technology solutions across the factory landscape as well as across the various production functions and plants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the overall strategy for factory information and operations technology to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
  • Systems Management: Oversee the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and optimization of Enterprise systems, maximizing usage of standard available functionality, ensuring seamless integration with production processes.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze and improve manufacturing processes through the effective utilization of technology, aiming to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of IT and operations technology professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, supply chain, and engineering, to ensure alignment and integration of technology solutions.
  • Compliance and Security: Work closely with Cybersecurity and Compliance teams to ensure all systems and processes comply with industry standards and regulations, maintaining the highest levels of data security and integrity.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers as needed to ensure the timely delivery and support of technology solutions.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget for factory information and operations technology, ensuring cost-effective solutions that meet Lucid's goals.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish and track KPIs for the factory IT systems, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving system optimizations
  • Team Oversight: Guides and oversees the IT SAP Applications, Factory Systems Enterprise, Systems Product Management, and IT Factory Organizational Change Management functions. Collaborates closely with the Infrastructure, MES, and PLM functions to ensure alignment to North Star vision.
  • Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing information systems and operations technology. Direct leadership experience within the automotive industry strongly preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES), product lifecycle management systems (PLM), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other relevant technologies.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with automotive and/or electric vehicle manufacturing.
  • Certifications in project management or relevant technologies.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma principles, continuous improvement methodologies.
