Description
We are looking for an experienced Aruba Network Administrator to join our team on a contract basis in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role involves managing and optimizing network infrastructure, supporting key IT initiatives, and ensuring smooth operations of campus-wide systems. The position is fully onsite and offers an opportunity to play a pivotal role in two major infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
Deploy and configure Aruba switches across multiple campus locations, ensuring minimal disruption during installations.
Support the segmentation initiative using GlobalProtect and Palo Alto technologies to enhance network security.
Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including Aruba wireless systems and Palo Alto firewalls.
Assist with Microsoft Azure/Entra ID and Active Directory administration to ensure seamless user management.
Provide technical support for VMware servers, Microsoft operating systems, SANs, VLANs, and wireless networking.
Implement cybersecurity best practices to safeguard organizational data and systems.
Collaborate with the IT team to resolve network-related issues and manage ongoing hardware tasks.
Monitor and optimize LAN performance, ensuring reliable connectivity across the campus.
Configure firewall technologies to maintain secure access and data protection.
Offer flexible support during early morning or weekend hours as needed for key installations.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Aruba networking equipment; Cisco experience may also be considered.
Proficiency in using Palo Alto firewalls and GlobalProtect technologies.
Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Azure/Entra ID.
Familiarity with VMware servers, SANs, VLANs, and wireless networking.
Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and their application in network management.
Experience with Google Suite for organizational collaboration.
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings or weekends, when required.
Demonstrated expertise in firewall technologies and LAN optimization.
