DevOps Engineer III

Role Overview

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our Next Generation Access Networks Platform Operations team.
This role will focus on managing and automating production environments for our virtual CMTS (vCMTS) architecture, driving continuous improvement across deployment pipelines, ITIL processes, and 24/7 operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain production environments supporting vCMTS microservices deployed on Kubernetes.
• Design and enhance CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth code integration and deployment.
• Monitor and improve service metrics, driving operational excellence and adherence to ITIL practices.
• Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and outage mitigation for complex network/system issues.
• Collaborate with Platform Standup and Change Implementation teams to plan and execute system changes.
• Manage vendor relationships (e.g., Juniper Networks, Arista, HPE, Syncworks) and integrate new projects.
• Implement automation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Network Operations roles.
• Strong expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native microservices.
• Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar).
• Experience with network engineering concepts and troubleshooting in large-scale environments.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, incident/problem management.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of virtual CMTS or broadband access network technologies.
• Experience with observability/monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Ability to thrive in a 24/7 operations environment with on-call rotation.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
