Day-to-Day/Key Responsibilities
Architect, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure on AWS tailored for financial workloads.
Develop, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, or GitLab CI.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
Monitor and manage cloud resources and services for performance, availability, and security using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and third-party tools.
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to enforce governance policies, IAM roles, encryption standards, and audit controls.
Automate operational processes to improve deployment speed and reliability while minimizing manual intervention.
Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve infrastructure issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Support migration initiatives from on-premises data centers to AWS cloud environments.
Stay up to date with the latest AWS services, best practices, and industry trends relevant to financial services.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to documentation, runbooks, and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
6+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering roles with a strong focus on AWS.
AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or similar.
Expertise with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, RDS, EKS, and others.
Strong experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, GitLab, etc.).
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Solid scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
Deep understanding of security, compliance, and governance frameworks applicable to financial services (PCI-DSS, SOX, GDPR).
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, ELK stack, Datadog.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, agile environments.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
