What You Will Do:
The Release Management Manager provides thought leadership for the execution of the Release Management strategy and partners with ET leadership in the execution of the Release Management processes and plan. Oversees, develops, and governs the release processes to support the software development lifecycle including supporting of releases across the enterprise for multiple applications across various portfolios. The releases can be inclusive of application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, Projects, and Programs. Owns and defines the ET Release Calendar in working closely with the ET teams to create a centralized view of all releases to provide guidance and analysis of release scheduling ensuring proper analysis, risk mitigation, and prioritization of the scheduled releases is met. Resolves and escalates any risks for any scheduled releases to the non-prod and production environment(s). Develops and maintains policies and controls for a consistent approach and execution of the release management plan following industry best practices. Leads the ET Release Analysts providing direct support, coaching, mentoring, and guidance. Reviews and approves deployment schedules, release plans, and readiness documentation to ensure overall coordination and analysis of all release milestones are met in each release throughout the release lifecycle. Supports analysts in Go-Live activities to ensure successful execution of the Release Plans and validation checklists. Completes any other job-related duties needed to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization's Values.
What We Require:
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or Business-related field or comparable education or comparable experience. Minimum five (5) years in change management change control experience or project management, software development, technical integration, or business operations environment. ITIL certification or comparable certification in an industry-standard release methodology such as agile or DevOps. Three (3) years of experience in a proven leadership or supervisory role. Proven experience in designing, developing, and executing release coordination at the enterprise level. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong process management and improvement skills. Outstanding teamwork, interpersonal, facilitation, organizational, listening, and communication skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Knowledge of distributed and mainframe infrastructure, technology, and concepts with the ability to quickly grasp new technologies, applications, and concepts. Understanding of structured application development methodology and principles, understanding of structured environments using distinct development, test, and production environments. Previous experience leading teams, creating, and executing a vision, and strategic planning. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong analysis, and prioritization skills, and the ability to execute work when needed. Experience in facilitating and presenting Release plans to stakeholders including executive management personnel. Strong grasp of change management principles, methodologies, and automated tools to lead and drive change control processes. Able to work in a team environment, meet deadlines and take on responsibility and accountability. Working knowledge of various release management process methodologies including knowledge in Agile, waterfall, and DevOps methodologies. Able to mentor/coach team members in understanding the established release management practices, guidelines, and procedures.
